    Structural Question regarding junction table

You asked me to upload as 2007 or post a screenshot of the relationship window with the tables fully expanded and visible. Since I haven't created the relationships yet because I haven't finished building my tables, that won't do much good I'm afraid. Also there isn't enough real estate on my...

    Structural Question regarding junction table

I tried that and got the following error message: Microsoft Access cannot save the database to the Access 2002 - 2003 file format. The specified database sort order, General, is not supported for the target database format. Please advise.

    Structural Question regarding junction table

I don't understand what's wrong then. When I'm working on it, it says (Access 2007) at the top, even though it's part of Microsoft Office 2010. In the save and publish options I can save as Access Database, 2000, or 2002-2003. there is no option for 2007. It's an accdb file if that makes a...

    Table and replationships

Andy...it looks to me like you were selecting tblDivisions to create the form and then trying to alter a record that is part of tblTeams. You need to select the right table when using the wizard so that you can alter the records within that table.

Autopopulate a field based on contents of another

So you would suggest just making a "number" field to hold the data and using the form field to do the looking up and just creating the relationship of the primary/foreign key fields separately or how does that actually work?

Table inserted into form no longer expands after db is split

Yes. Once i re-established the subtables on the back end and updated relationships on the front end, my expansion button returned to my tables that were nested in my forms. Thanks.

Table inserted into form no longer expands after db is split

Sorry I just found your reply. The parent and child linked fields for both the form and the table attached at the bottom would be the primary/foreign key fields that link the tables on the back end. So on the Employee Information form I would link the employeeID with the SchoolID from the...

    Structural Question regarding junction table

I am confused. My db was posted in A2007 on the original post. Are you still unable to open it?

    Structural Question regarding junction table

It's also important to note that I will need to be able to move employees from one contract position to a new contract position either at another school or just with a different job title to fill a "vacancy" and leave a "vacancy" in their place. Sorry for leaving that part out of the original...

    Structural Question regarding junction table

I have a database with the following tables to store data: tblBudgetCodes, tblemployees, tblJobTitles, tblPrograms, tblSchedules, tblSchools What I need to do now is create a junction table (and possibly another data table) to bring all the data together and this is where I need a bit of...

Table inserted into form no longer expands after db is split

Here is a screenshot of the expandable subdatasheet I was talking about in the table itself on the backend of the DB.

Table inserted into form no longer expands after db is split

Yes. It wasn't originally supposed to be this complicated. But as I started workign on it, the powers that be kept asking for it to be able to track more and more information. I got my original in use and am now workign on trying to add in some of the other stuff they've asked for. Before I...

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

I'm sorry Chris, I'm sure that would normally make sense. I had made two other posts elsewhere in the forums and so far not a single reply on either of them. Plog has been kind enough to go through this with me from the first post here and since all the questions have sort of stemmed from that...

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

My users are even more technologically inept than I am and there is no way they could handle assigning all this stuff to start off with, so that task will fall on me with maintenance and changes being all that's needed afterwards. To do that I need to be able to import the schedules and assign...

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

Ok then I will use the foreign key to the programs table in my schedules. That should do what I need it to do. It will assign the program to the schedules or vice versa depending on how you look at it. I have a niggling issue that I can't seem to figure out. In tblPrograms I have a field...

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

So when I'm setting up tblSchedules do I just use a School Field which pulls from tbl Schools and then use a junction table to assign them to the programs?

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

I have tblSchedules...the meal/bell schedules. Start time and end time for each meal period. 2 breakfasts and up to 12 lunches for the "contract" program. Then if there is a snack program or ASM program at the school I'll have one record for each of those. Then the summer school ones as well for...

So many questions I'm not sure where to begin

Ok and how to fit the schedules into that. Do I do that like i said and have programID linked in to the Schedules table in the same way that I'm doing it with the program assignments?
