    Ok so it works, but somehow i cant make the combobox actually to get the value of the text in the list. instead it keeps saving the id. also in the control source propety it keeps showing the text 'Expr1000' instead of what i insert there. what to do? tinky

    Hi thanks but, it's not about the visible property because all the fields have this property as a 'yes' but still some of them are invisible any other suggestions? and as for the combo box...again-doesn't work need another idea. thanks for the help tinky

    Hi thanks I see that the form as is has a "yes" in the "allow additions" but if it's used as a subform in another screen, it doesn't have this propety in the properties list. it's avery simple form, not a crosstab query thanks for the help
