question about command to save record

I've been looking at 2 lines of code in 2 different modules and it looks like they both do the same thing. Can someone tell me if there is any difference between these 2 lines of code? DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord versus DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, acSaveRecord, , acMenuVer70

Passing a total from one form to another

I have "LossForm" to record loss of inventory items due to damage, theft, etc. It has "Loss Subform" for input of multiple items. The row has a calculated field "TotalLoss" (from qty * itemcost). The footer of subform has unbound text field =Sum(nz([TotalLoss])). This all works fine. The...

need to track inventory and information for financial reports

Thanks for the link jdraw. I remember having to do ERD models in a Bus.DB Systems class but it was a long time ago so it is a good refresher. It looks like Roger Carlson explains it differently from what I recall so it's easier to understand. Thanks also for the encouragement. I'll finish...

need to track inventory and information for financial reports

I can run queries on the tables that are related, but I can't include the tables that are not related in the query. If I run separate queries on all the tables, how do I use them in the financial report? Is it possible to use multiple unrelated queries in a report?

need to track inventory and information for financial reports

Hi, I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have an inventory database with tables for Inventory Transactions, Purchases, Sales, etc. Everything is fine with that. But my boss wants to be able to pull reports at random to see cash flow. I created some tables that are not related to...

Question about fields, table relationships & sql

Re: Question about fields, table relationships FOLLOWUP OK, nevermind. I figured it out. (I think I just needed a break away from the computer.) So to correct the problem, I deleted the field TypeID (in red) from tblJournalEntries since it would have been redundant data. Also I realized that...

    Damaged Hard drive external

LOL, no I didn't realize it was old. At times like this, I joke around that I suffer from time displacement syndrome, but this one beats 'em all.

Computer performance for video streaming and Youtube movies

I agree with Minkey. When buying any new pc/laptop or hardware always push to get the better option--even if it's a bit outside of what you were wanting to spend. If you settle for something less, you'll probably regret it later on down the road. One thing I'd add is to make sure you are...

    Damaged Hard drive external

Glad to hear you were able to get the important stuff off using DOS. As for the freezer trick, I heard that was supposed to be overnight (inside a zip lock bag). Not sure about that though. What I can suggest is that you look at the cable where it connects to the drive and see if is loose...

    hello from california

Hi, I'm kinda new here. By "kinda" I mean that I have visited the site many times in the past to read other posts and have found it to be a good reference. I have an AS degree in Computer Info Systems. I worked with Access a lot in the past, at which time you could say I was at an intermediate...
