    Oh I definitely agree! I only use the tabbed windows for development - when the db is ready to field I turn off all tabs, and the user can only use buttons to perform tasks.

    OK I've been using overlapping windows for a few hours, the interface is definitely consistent. I wouldn't have thought to switch over since the tabs had been working so well for me in 2010, Adapting to new versions of tools is a survival skill! Again, thanks for the help:)

    Thanks Paul. I've tried that and it puts me back in the mode of having to open the windows from the navigation panel. Unless I'm missing something and there's some way to navigate directly from one window to the next in design mode?
