    Selecting distinct records from table

Hi, I hope someone can assist. I have a table with the following fields: Contact_ID, Company_ID and EmailAddress. The situation is that the same email address can be associated with 1 or more companies. Therefore the Contact_ID and Company_ID will differ from the same email address. For...

    FTP blocking

Hi sonic8, Fantastic advice, so much I have learnt. I always learn a great deal from Access-Programmers! This in particular is very useful and I will try this: "If you only want to connect to one single IP address or domain name, then add a very specific exception for this scenario to your...

    FTP blocking

Thanks for both your inputs. I have no experience with this, so I was wondering whether someone has found a way to deal with this, possibly "unlock the door", then "lock" after sending. I have been struggling with working out what rule to add to the firewall - seems like it wants to know what...

    FTP blocking

Hi, I am struggling to resolve this, and may not be resolvable because of firewall security? I trigger this FTP code to upload a PDF file which has just been generated to my website. If I deactivate my virus protection software, works fine. If not, is blocked. Any suggestions whether there is...

    FTP to Upload documents

Thanks everyone for your input. After trying a range of variations, I eventually discovered that the antivirus software/firewall was blocking the code from executing! Hard lesson learnt, and a possible solution to others having this problem in the future.

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

Apologies, my fault for trying to only show the pertinent aspect - realise it would have caused major confusion. The original code allows the selection of a company, all companies, and a date range. The union is this: SELECT TestsAvailable.Test, Format$([DateReport],'yyyy',0,0) AS Period...

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

Oh, sorry. This is the Union Statement SELECT TestsAvailable.Test, Format$([DateReport],'yyyy/mm',0,0) AS Period, Count(TestsAvailable.test) AS C, 1 as S FROM TestsAvailable RIGHT JOIN (((Companies INNER JOIN Orders ON (Companies.Company_ID = Orders.Company_ID) AND (Companies.Company_ID =...

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

This is brilliant, never seen this before. However does not translate to the cross-tab. I tried different approaches to the cross-tab query of the union, but I am unable to display as required. I assume this is possible but I am missing how to do this?

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

Hi CJ, That is a fantastic solution, thank you. Mostly, I learnt a lot and became a little more skilful! Could I ask for one more stab at this- how do I sort so that it displays all year, then months At present shows 2020 then 2020/01, 2020/02, 2020/03, to 2020/12, then 2021, 2021/01, 2021/02...

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

Thanks so much for a great idea. I have created the union on the two original queries, but have hit a snag with the crosstab. I do not know how to allow for two column headings (using the wizard which only allows one) This code creates the crosstab for only the monthly part TRANSFORM...

Creating a query with yearly totals and monthly side-by-side

Hi all, I have created a query for totals by year, and another for totals by month (and able to select the month in question) Is it possible to create a query which combines both, i.e., yearly totals, and including the months? (potentially being able to select the month in question) See image...

Possible to insert text into pivot query?

    Thanks for your reply. The user selects a date from, and a date to. The oDateRange = " Tech_Orders_All.Order_received >= '2022-11-05' And Tech_Orders_All.Order_received <= '2023-05-04' " Therefore: "WHERE Tech_Orders_All.Order_received >= '2022-11-05' And Tech_Orders_All.Order_received <=...

Possible to insert text into pivot query?

Hi, I suspect this is not possible, but! I have a pivot query that works correctly. This issue is that I would like to somehow insert into a column heading, or even row heading, the data range that I am quering so that when copied and pasted, the user is reminded of the date range the data...
