Convert MS Access database to web based DB

Hello Pat, I like your concept in your first response. But how on Earth do I get Access to READ an incoming email? I know how to send one. I have used CDO and it works perfectly, but I have never worked out how to 'read' an incoming email. Can you advise please, as this seems to provide an...

Convert MS Access database to web based DB

Hello Guys, I have created an Access database which runs cribbage league results. I now want to convert this so I can add it to our existing website and allow members to enter their own results.. I think I know how to transform the tables to SQL. But the problem I have is creating a new front...

    Copy entire form to clipboard

Yes, but cannot get access to the snip and sketch executable. Microsoft have hidden it and I need to get access through a chain of folders and subfolders. I welcome any quick solution. The Take Ownership option is greyed out and I cannot find the subfolders that Arnel specified.

    Copy entire form to clipboard

Thanks both arnelgp and Uncle Gizmo. I had thought of Snip & Sketch, but not pursued the idea. If I could find the exe file I could use Shell command to launch it programmatically. But finding the exe file has proved a nightmare. Can anyone tell me the path? Many thanks

    Copy entire form to clipboard

Hello Guys, Having worked for years with most Ms Office products, I have reached an impasse with Ms Access. For the first time ever, I want to copy the screen image of a form using VBA. Preferably from within the form itself once it is active. My aim is to use the image on a website. I do not...

Trouble with Ease of Access settings

Hello Guys I have a cataract which means I have had to use ease of access to set the screen to a more preferred option so I can see everything. I now have a black background with white text. Perfect! BUT when I enter the VB screen in Access some of the code text is coloured a very dark purple...

    Emailing from Access

Thanks for the input. I think I may need to make my problem clearer. I use Thunderbird for all my email traffic. But I have now got two email accounts. The old one, which I have used for all of my emails is phil@beaconsfieldcottage.co.uk. But I have recently set up another account called...

Query to select players for a team without duplicates

Hello June7, Thank you for your contribution. I tried your suggestion, but could not get it to work. So I tried an alternative strategy. I created a temporary table called tblSelectedPlayers and wrote an afterUpdate event where the playerID selected from the first combo was added to the...

Query to select players for a team without duplicates

Hello All, I need some inspiration! I have created a form. The form also has a subform which is a continuous form. The form will be used to enter results from matches played in our local cribbage league. I will explain how matches are played. In any match there are two teams, A and B. Each...

    Forms and Themes

Thanks Pat. Miraculously the new database had rectified itself by this morning after a reboot of the laptop. But I remain mystified as to why it happened in the first place. Where do I find the "use Access Theme" setting? I've looked, but cannot locate it. Thanks

    Forms and Themes

I've just had a disturbing experience! I have spent today building a new database. Nothing special there. I've built many so I know what I am doing. A few minutes ago I was creating a new form and everything was going swimmingly. Then I had to close the new database and open another database to...

    Quiz database - Brainfreeze

Pat, I think we're singing from the same hymn sheet. Your suggestion is exactly what I have done to create the tblScore table. My apologies if I have inadvertently misled you. I have 3 tables: tblTeam, tblRound and tblScore. As you advised, I created tblscore from a query containing...

    Quiz database - Brainfreeze

Yes each team will gain a score for each of the ten rounds. A team can score 2 points for each correct answer, but if they have played their joker on that round they can score a maximum of 40 points. So over ten rounds they could score 9 x 20 points and 1 x 40 points. Every team is independent...

    Quiz database - Brainfreeze

Thanks again arnelgp. I have created the initial insert query which matches yours identically. Good to know two minds think alike! But to get the Joker flag to match the chosen round number in tblteam I created an update query which adds the true flag for the appropriate Team/Round combination...

    Quiz database - Brainfreeze

Thanks arnelgp. There could be between 12 and 20 teams depending on how many folk turn up on the night. I had considered using an append query but thought using recordsets might be a swift answer. I'll give that a try. many thanks

    Quiz database - Brainfreeze

I am creating a scoring system to keep track of team scores during a quiz night. I have three tables tblTeam, tblRound and tblScore. A quiz consists of say 10 rounds During a quiz a team cn play its Joker which doubles the Team score for that round only. A team can only do that for one round...

Thanks Pat, I appreciate your contribution and I would love to pursue your offer at some point in the future. But at the moment I need to get this current problem resolved so I can search my existing huge powerpoint collection. I'll be back! Who said that?
