    I have disabled the Access Keys as well - doh. When I try to import into a blank database, I can only get the tables and queries - the forms and reports stay greyed out. At least I won't have to recreate everything.

    Thanks for the quick response - unfortunately I have also disabled that - I have a feeling I have got a lot of work ahaead of me!! (It will teach me to be more careful when choosing between save and save as I suppose)
