    Error on opening database

Update - I just used the 'convert all macros to VBA' (which I didn't know existed until yesterday) and other than it mis-coding them all(!) it seems to have solved the error I was experiencing.

    Error on opening database

The error message is "Object or class does not support the set of events" - no number, no other info, other than the database name in the header of the box. When I click that I get another box - Error number 2950, which I did Google - and that's why I changed the trusted location settings etc...

    Error on opening database

Issue: I am getting an error message running macros unless I have opened the VBA window at the beginning of a session. Details: My initial form on start-up (frmMySwitch) has two combo boxes and various command buttons. Most of the buttons use a macro to open another form. Two of them use VBA...

OnOpen form event Filter a Combo Box in Subform

So! After much phaffing about and swearing (mainly because I was opening the wrong form while testing - DUH!) I've got things working how I want. On my 'switchboard', the user chooses an employment status from a combobox. A button saves their choice to openargs and opens the checklist form. On...

OnOpen form event Filter a Combo Box in Subform

Thanks for your replies. At least I know I'm thinking in the right direction. It's been 15 years or more since I wrote any serious VBA, so I'm all but starting from scratch. My 'go-to' in the past has been to download template and pull them apart, but I'm not finding too many useful examples. If...

OnOpen form event Filter a Combo Box in Subform

I have an embedded macro on each button "Open Form, filtered by qryGroup1/2/3/etc." . I've only just returned to Access after about 15 years of avoiding it, so I have not waded back into VBA.

OnOpen form event Filter a Combo Box in Subform

I realise this is a very old query, but it is exactly my issue. I have a form "frmChecklists" that is opened by command buttons that apply the relevant query - qryGroup 1, qryGroup 2, qryGroup 3 etc. On my form I have a combo box based on ContactID which goes to the record that is selected. How...

    Introduction

Hi. What can I tell you that's worth the effort of reading? I've used Access in the past (15 years ago). I love what it can do. I'm working on a single database at the moment in my role with a start up as Head of HR. I have a question about forms that I'll post in the appropriate thread.
