Bob Does my ID field have to be number? My customer ID field needs to be letters and numbers ( TRI645 ). Can I use something like this? Will it cause problems?

When you set up the switchboard you have to set it to "open the form in edit mode" I think you selected "open the form in add mode" which will only allow you to add new information. Go to your switchboard manager and change it from add to edit. Make sense?

Are you opening the form from the switchboard?

I am confused. You say the form will update the tables fine, but when you use the form to update it will not let you. That does not make sense to me. Does it or does it not allow you to update?
