Mailing Labels: Many people, one address

Thanks for the quick comeback! You're quite right. What if I had 10 people under one roof trying to smash them together on one label?! :p At the moment, the maximum I have is three people at one address. I guess I'll just resort to addressing the label as: "To the Residents of..." No big...

Mailing Labels: Many people, one address

Please find attached a picture of the relationships I've established for my civic league database. My problem is that there can be more than two people (with different last names) living at the same address. I would like to be able to create mailing labels for one address while addressing all...

    running code from a menu

I realize this message is over 3 years old, but I'm searching for something similar to this answer. If I wanted to send the acFormView property to the function would it be a integer? And if so, what is the number (and where would I find it) for acFormDS?

    Error 3075_code syntax

Thank you, Mile! Worked like a charm! And thanks, Forn. You're quite correct in your observations. I'm just working with a really hosed up program right now and I just want to see things "work" (if you know what I mean). Thanks to both of you! Peace

    Error 3075_code syntax

    Hello all Just a quick question: Why does this work perfectly: RunTimePoints.Value = DLookup("PTPoints", "Point Table", "PTRun = [RunTime]") yet, this doesn't: rst.Fields("RunTimePoints").Value = DLookup("PTPoints", "Point Table", "PTRun = " & rst.Fields("RunTime").Value) I'm...

Crimeny! :) Guess that was a big fat fingered mistake. I'm trying again. Thanks!

    Relationships are *FUN* !

Okay, T. Here 'tis. Please take a look at this AT YOUR LEISURE! :) There's absolutely no rush on this! I just find this problem perplexing yet interesting and would enjoy working through this with you, IF AND WHEN YOU HAVE THE TIME.

    Relationships are *FUN* !

Hi, T! Thanks for thinking of me. Do not worry about the timeframe of this project. It's totally a "voluntary" thing on my part (i.e., if it gets done, it gets done...otherwise, "no problem, man!") :) I'll post what I've "reconfigured" from what you've given me thus far as soon as possible...

    Relationships are *FUN* !

Dear T. Could you revisit my problem once more? I have taken your database of breaking down the complaints into separate tables and my input forms are working much smoother now. To that end I thank you very much. However, I want to issue a report as shown in oldform.jpg(checkboxes). I am...

    DLookUp function and Queries

Thank you, Mr. Hartman....your suggestion worked like a charm! I also give your suggestion to the PTPointTable further consideration. There's no doubt I'm going "around my elbow to get to my thumb" :) Cheers!

    DLookUp function and Queries

I feel like this could be a single quote/double quote problem or maybe I'm asking too much out of a single query, but here goes. I have a table (called Cadet Data File) that has several fields, 4 of which are: CurlUpPoints, RunTimePoints, PushUpPoints. All numeric (integer). Then there's Sex...

    Relationships are *FUN* !

Thanks, T! :) Thanks for the quick response! I started to work the Complaint Type table as you have suggested, but I've gotten "hung up" with the idea that I wanted checkboxes (True/False). Guess I'll try it another way like "if Complaint_Num = 1 then Paint Peeling = True). Again, thanks...

    Relationships are *FUN* !

Hello :) I'm working on a database for a Homeowner's Association. I'm creating "Complaint" forms. There are 15 different types of complaint items. I'd like to set these up as yes/no checkboxes. They are as follows: Peeling paint Loose/Missing Roof Shingles Sheds/Fence in disrepair Vacant...

    design

No, you can't use "between" in reports (from what I can tell) but you can create a Select Query using all the fields you'd like to have on the report and in the criteria box for Age type: Between 8 and 10. Then develop your report based on that query. Hope this helps

    design

Does your table have the actual ages of the children or their date of births? If you just have their ages, you could do a query on the age field using the Between function. Just a thought

    Using the Switch Function

Thanks, Raskew! Yep! your idea is "cleaner, faster, better"! This is definitely a "Why didn't I think of that?" moment... Cheers

    Using the Switch Function

This forum has been so helpful to me in the past that I thought I'd offer this tidbit of code that I discovered by myself while I was creating a report in Access 2000 in case anyone else has been stumped by this problem. I'm creating a report that lists grade scores of students in descending...

    Parameter queries & Combo Boxes

I have created one table of cadets with typical things such as Last Name, First Name, etc. One of my fields is named Platoon with a data type as Text for data input as 1,2,3...etc. Since there will be no "computation" on this field, I felt it would be better to define it as Text rather than an...

I don't care about the Year

Thanks Alexandre, but alas! Your suggestion "doesn't work"(?) After studying your reply, I think that your using the "\" to mean "literally these characters(?) The \/yyyy part confuses me. Again, I'm using short date (mm/dd/yy) format. Could this be the problem? Another possibility...
