    Updating a split database Question

Hi! I too have a split database. I added a table to the back end but when I refresh the links in the front end, it's not showing up. When I manually copied the table to the front end, I still can't get the links to work. Any thoughts?? **Nevermind. I got it to work! WOO HOO!**

    2003 vs. 2007 - which is better?

Hi everyone. Right now, my database is in 2003. Should I upgrade it to 2007? Are there any benefits? If I do this, will it mess with the coding (does 2003 coding still work in 2007)?? I am leaning towards upgrading to 2007 simply because I like the layout better, I have 2007 for all my other...

    Table Question

One more question. A country might appear in more than one Territory. I should include more than one column to define those Territories, shouldn't I? For example, Egypt will be found in the following Territories: World, Arabic-Speaking, and Northern Africa. For this one, I would need three...

    Table Question

It's me again! New week, new question. :-) I am going to implement the changes suggested in the sample database provided by gfultz. In doing so, I need to modify field names. What we currently have as Countries needs to be called Territories. It seems easier in my mind to fix the naming issue...

    Table Question

Howdy! I am in a quandry. I need to define terms in a drop-down menu inside my database. Let me try to explain fully. I am creating a list of Territories/Regions found in contractual agreements. These Terr/Reg can be: Italian-speaking worldwide which is defined as Argentina, HolySee, Italy...

Thanks! I will try those. I've also got a book on VB on hold at Barnes & Noble. I'll pick it up after work!

    Need more help!

Thank you for your help! Unfortunately, I don't think there is enough chocolate in the world to help me today. Let me take your three points one by one: 1. I was just assuming the VBA code needed something from the tblResources. I didn't do the VBA programming so I have no clue that it...

    Need more help!

Ok, I see what you're saying and I think I've done that correctly and the issue might be VBA - or my complete inadequateness. Below is more detail. To explain, in a way I hope you can understand, I wanted to change the ActiveTitle field (a yes/no check box) to AssetStatus (a lookup with 3...

    Need more help!

So, I'm a little further along in my updating/modification of my database. We paid someone last year to do some VBA coding for us and - to be honest - I'm clueless as to how it works. (But we have no money to get someone to do all THIS work so....I'm doing it.) Anyway, I'm getting an error...

    Split Database needing modifications

Thanks to everyone for your help! I'm sure I'll have more questions as I start this process of updating the database.

    Split Database needing modifications

Also, if I need to make changes to both the tables in the back end and forms in the front end, is there an order I should use? For example, I'm changing options completely one one table that is used to create a form, which will then need to be changed as well. Does it matter if I change the...

    Split Database needing modifications

If I make changes to tables that are used in the creation of forms, would those changes apply to the forms automatically? Or do I need to update forms as well? *Sorry for dumb questions.*

    Split Database needing modifications

Hi. As my name indicates, I am database challenged. I created a very simple database nearly two years ago, which my department never used. We decided to use it last summer so we hired someone to pump it up a little. He did some VBA coding and moved around my tables and the information ON the...
