Is anyone familiar with Reporting Services? My company is switching to it and if so, I'd love to see a section for it here. What do you guys think?

I know I'm new to it and would appreciate anyone else's expertise.

Would it make sense to integrate this with the existing Crystal Reports forums? Perhaps when we do get enough threads about RS, we can split the forums?

Crystal and Reporting Services are vastly different, considering they are competitors. Would it make sense to put them together? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion.

If nothing else, maybe make it a subforum for SQL Server, since it's really just a part of it.

Really. I thought Microsoft owned Crystal Reports as well. My apologies.

Sub-section of SQL Server I can agree with, though.

Crystal is owned by Business Objects. We were initially going to convert to Business Objects, but we decided to move to Reporting Services instead. The platform is much more user friendly and already intigrates nicely with SQL Server. :)

Aha, I see. I had the impression that Microsoft owned Crystal Reports because it comes included with Visual Studio. Wiki for anyone else.

Didn't think they'd be bundling competitor's product in their IDE.... :D Hopefully the RS serves your company well. :)
