I'm a bit of a fish-out-of-water here. I've been a process-control, telecom data acquisition, mostly embedded systems, C/C++ realtime operating system kind of bloke for decades. I'm not even close to a seasoned MSOffice developer but I've found myself handed a fairly large Access-Word VBA automation project where I'm the solo developer and, to boot, no specs. I've done a smidgen of Word VBA, a double-smidgen of SQL as a backend for a thoroughly proprietary data collection app (MFC, then migrated to C#/.NET), and have designed a large client-server system and several embedded products from the ground-up, but utterly no professional experience in business apps. So, Office is nearly a black box to me. Yet here I am trying to help out a struggling small business owner -- a family member. Wish me luck. --Bob
