Hi,

I have a linked table in Excel which is the source for my data. When I review the contents in the Access Table - it all seems fine and the formatting of dates, currency, numbers with commas etc all matches the Excel spreadsheet. However, when I change into Form View, some of the items are wrong, for example the dates as shown just as the numbers with no formatting, £ signs are missing in currency and commas are missing from numbers.

When I look at this is design view in the table it appears as though the correct data type is selected, e.g date, currency etc.

Just wondered if anyone could help advise why the formatting isn't showing properly on the form?

Thanks

formatting is independent.
just like a query sort wont work in a report unless you set it in the report.

Ah I see - so how do I change the format of the specific fields in the form so they show the date rather than just the number?

In design view, select your control and then edit the Format property.

Thanks - that’s sorted most of the issues out. Some of the control boxes have an @ in the format and the drop down doesn’t give me any options to change. Any ideas on what’s causing this?
