Distinct Count in a Report

I have a report/query with a MainID field, PartID field, CurrentID field. CurrentID field is MAinID & PartID. THis means that the MainID can have several Records. How can i count only one record per MainID number.
Ex. MainID PartID CurrentID
123 123
123 A 121A
121 121
This should give me a count of 2 MainID Numbers and 3 CurrentID numbers. Can this be done? I know you can do a distinct count in crystal?... But I only have the Acccess 97 built in report. Any help is appriciated.

Thanks
