I'm using an append query to copy data from one table to another. I've noticed that values containing commas do not trigger data conversion errors if they are being written into a 'Number' field. For example, if a value such as "23,7" is written into a numbers-only field in the target table, it just writes "237" in the target field. Is that to be expected or is it a bug in Access?

thanks for the response... you've just made me think - it's probably to do with using commas as 'thousand' separators..
