Where is everybody.....

Once Upon a Time in a Galaxy Far Far Away....

This Watercooler used to be very active and full of good discussion and banter... but now sadly it seems so quiet and nondescript... neglected even...

Where has everybody gone.... I'm Lonely....

Interesting statement. During two previous election cycles, I ruffled a few feathers of my fellow countrymen by making similar remarks.

I imagine that as a limey, you can actually get a few rounds bought for you in a local pub by making them.

Re: Where is everybody.....

Been busy trying to get ready for retirement. Right now, reading through an absolutely EXCITING (...not!) list of insurance carriers authorized to issue Medicare Advantage plans in the state of Louisiana. If I can keep my eyes open, I might actually post here now and then, but at the moment I'm distracted.

Good luck on your pending retirement. I've passed on to that celestial plane. Now, I'm stocking-up on virtual hand-grenades for the next big thing on the "watercooler".

For me, it is something else entirely. Since I live in New Orleans, I stock up on Red (Kidney) Beans and Rice with Cajun Sausage. Not a virtual hand grenade, but perhaps a virtual gas grenade!

It won't kill you... but it might conjure up some death wishes.

I am heading your way again. I'll be in Biloxi, MS for a little over a week. What's you favorite casino buffet?

I take no credit for that comment. It is quoted at the end of a song called "America" by "The Nice" (a 60's pop group). It is quoted by the 5 year old daughter of the record producer. It's on Spotify and YouTube.

There is no big thing on the watercooler, most people seem either bored with it or can't be bothered with it. When it was mostly British it was excellent but it has been killed by boring Americans.

Re: Where is everybody.....

Dick, I have not eaten at ANY of the Biloxi casino buffets and therefore am totally unfamiliar with them. My brother-in-law lives there and cooks quite decently, Cajun style. From what I have heard from him and his family, the big casino buffets tend to be (for lack of a better term) normalized to the average USA palate. I know that is how it is for the New Orleans buffets, with maybe a couple of exceptions on a "promotional" day.

Ok, I have been to a couple of them last year and the year before. I can't remember the name, but the one I usually end at is the one that gives me a military discount.
