Hi All

Upon loading Access 2010 the ribbon has disappeared.

How do I unhide the ribbon manually.

I have tried it in code:

DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarYes

and it had no effect but there must be a manual switch or toggle.

I should have got to grips with Access 2007 as soon as it came out.

Thanks

Justin

First click on the ms buton, go to current db and look to see what the name of the ribbon is. if there is anything there clear it and restart access. If that doesnt fix your problem then there is likely code in one of your forms open event. disable the start up form and restart access. try that and tell us if it works.

Hi speakers_86

No ribbon specified.

Not opening a form at startup yet.

Just opening Access and there is no ribbon.

BTW - How do I specify a startup form?

Thanks

Is this db something you made or downloaded? Is that and AutoExec macro?

For startup forms, you can use an autoexec macro to start a form, or you can go to CurrentDB and select the startup form.

I have started this DB from scratch.

Even creating a new database with nothing in it does not display the ribbon.

I have been using 2003 for years and have just installed 2010 and getting used to the new concepts and functionality. All good fun!!!

This is odd. Go back to current database, select Allow Full Menus, Allow default, and allow built-in. Then go to customize ribbon and make sure that it has got something checked. edit-Restart Access after this.

If that does nothing, go to the sample db here on this forum, and download Aphrodite. When frmSettings loads, click on the button "Ribbon".

Also, what of the nav pane? Is it there? Do you have any add-ins?

Allow Full Menus, Allow default both checked

Cannot find 'built-in'.

Then go to customize ribbon and make sure that it has got something checked.
This OK too.

Aphrodite worked fine and also gave me lots of other solutions but code was no different to that I originally used.

A mystery, maybe I will discover one day.

Thanks for your help.

Justin
