Hi,

Thanks for your help but I got the answer to the following question.
You need to import from Excel into a new table then run a append query.

Hi,

I imported a worksheet from Excel to a new table in Access without any problems.
Next I tried to import more new data from the same worksheet
(the old data was deleted and new data was copied to the worksheet) and I kept getting errors, I couldn't get it to work.
All of the fields were exactly the same.
What is the correct way to import like this?
Is there any way to just copy and paste from Excel to Access? I tried it but it seems to put all of my cells into one Access cell.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Billionz,

If one of your fields is a primary key you won't be able to import over your existing data. Try importing into a New table (using a different tblName), delete the existing table after confirming your data has imported successfully, then rename your New table to the Name of the old table.
Hope this helps...

Hi John,

Thanks for your help. I made sure that I didn't have any primary keys but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Bill
