Hi

I want to produce a very basic report. What I also want is the command buttons "PRINT", "E-MAIL", "SAVE AS EXCEL FILE", "CLOSE"

Is anyting of the above achiveble?
Please advise on the best approaches?

Thanks

Yes this is possible you can create your own custom menu in access and only keep the items you want in here from the original menu.

You can also setup a print command button using the wizard so you then have the option of choosing file, print from the menu or selecting your command button. You might also want to tell the report to print all records or only a selection of records.

As for the email button you can code this to send to multiple people on your databases. I am not too great with email through access as I have only used it once, however as you are looking to keep this basic I do still have a copy of a small db in which I tested out the sendobject so you are welcome to have this if you want to take a look.

Let me know if you need further information

In what area of the report should I place my command buttons?

And please give me any examples that may help to quickly resolve my issues.

I'll appreacite your help greatly

Thanks

Hi Polina

Here is a small sample of the email it is on a form here but you can use it in your report.

I should mention I don't think you can really use cmdbuttons on a report? You can certainly pace them there but they are made better use of in forms. Can't you maybe have a pop up form to search for you report results then either preview the results then print or print directly if you do not want to preview.

I did post a sample on this board using a pop up form then produce the report results I'll see if I can find it for you.

In the meantime here is the email sample.
