A simple formula so the previous record number adds 1 for a new record

Hiya

I have a list of data ordered by Record Number. At the moment, the last record is 2555.

I want to be able to use the form to go onto add new record and it start with 2556.

Is there a formula I can enter into Default Value in design view what will do this? I havent used autonumber.

Just want something simple!

In Design View, set [Record Number] --> Enabled = No

Use your form's BeforeInsert Event:

[Record Number] = DMax("[Record Number]", "YourTable")
