A simple total

I would like to get my reports to count the number of entries (text fields) in each report generated and place the total at the end of the report.

I have tried using aan unbound text box in the footer of the page and setting the control source to Count ([Field] but I just get 'Error' back.

What am I doing wrong?

Can I place one total box at the end of the report with having to put it in the footer but without having it repeated under each line throughout the report?

You need it in the Report Footer and it should be =Count([fieldname])
