I am going to set up a database with access. there is a table and a form.
in the table there is a field which is OLE class used to store image/picture.
I found that I can drog the picture in the form's OLE field,

but on the other hand, I want to insert the picture by commondialog from the form, so I can browse my computer to find the picture.
can you help me to do so??

I also found that if I disable "left click",
I cannot have the drog action
can I solve this problem too

here is the non-finished sample

rather than storing your pictures in an Ole field, i would recommend you that will link your images by using the image control, because embedding your pics in the Ole field, will certainly bloat your database.

You can search the forum, there are several threads covering this topic, and you will the right approach how you can tackle this.

I got the "link" image methode
but it is nessecery for me to insert the image to the database
because I need to put the database into a LAN system in my office

can the "link" methode can help me to do so?

as long as you use the correct path for your images, there is no problem in sharing your db over a LAN. Ideally, you should put all your images in one folder and then link to them ... btw how many images are we talking about, because if it is simply a matter of few images, you can easily embed them within your database.

Moreover, sometime ago i came across an Active X control which is capable of embed your images to your database in binary format, thus you would not notice an increasing filseize of your db. Try searching on Google for it, if i am not mistaken it is freeware too.
