I am having problem linking data in a form to a subform.

What I have is a form that contains the name of a project and the description of the project. That form then includes a subform that lists the various progress reports for that project in a tabular form.

I have a database to keep track of the link between the project and the various progress reports that it can contain. My problem is when using the Form/Subform to create new progress reports, it is not creating the necessary values in the table to link the project and the new progress report together. Any help would be appreciated!

Here's a screenshot to give everyone a better idea:

I would post the DB but it's to big according to forum attachment size limits.

TIA!

If your problem is :

if the subform only gets populated if there are existing records all through out the four tables, then you are linking it wrong.

double click on it left outer join from the parent table(the one with primary key) to the child table (the one with the carrying the other table's primary key as foreign key)

If not , please tell me more.

The attachment is to big to post here so I uploaded it to a free web file host:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8CHFB4W

My problem is that ProjectProgressReportRelation is not updated with the project and the report number that is linked to it when using the Form/SubForm to create the new report.

Liv Manto I would greatly appreciate it if you or someone else could take a look at it.

Im at work now, and the site is blocked from my workstation (high security whatever at Boeing) . I'll look at it from home..later..

Im in Long Beach, CA now , 1043 am , i would be home in Huntington Beach by 6pm, so if you can wait 9 hours, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah no problem, I just noticed it was blocked here too from work...

Skates, give me your email address..

Its a small file. You need to change relationships and also use the "middleman" table so it would update it too, in your form.

Sorry took a while, have to do something else...
