Any ideas on this one

recently installed access 97 onto a machine already running 2000 (to enable a database to be designed in 97 for someone else not running 2000)

Since then had major problems with the wizards - ie not all of them work in 97 or 2000....tried reinstalling office 97 and 2000 numerous times but problem still persists. All the files seem to be present on the hard drive and loaded but just not working.

Found some info on the Microsoft Access knowledge base and downloaded a file which fixed some of the 97 wizards....but it still will not run the subform wizards (and probably others)

Is this a problem anyone else has experienced????

You will find there are many conflicts while running both versions.

What you could do is un-install 97.
Do your database in 2000 then got to your menu, select 'tools' - 'database utilities' - 'convert database' - 'to prior database version'.
Then save the database.

It should then be a 97 type dbase.

Good luck
Tom

Thanks

I was perhaps being a bit lazy in not wanting to convert the databases........I have learnt my lesson
