Well I've been working on this problem for many a week now and I've finally pulled the last strand of hair from my head and I'm consulting you guys here, 'cause I just don't know.

I've got an access database that links via hyperlink fields to stored pages on a password protected web page. If you click on the hyperlink you are presented with the login web page because you are yet to be authorised. I've tried using the keystroke trick to insert the username and password and logon, but depending on what connection I'm using (dialup, ISDN or ADSL) the results have been at least once - disasterous (the database ended up with a password on it!!).

The way I think I can get round it is to pass the username and password (stored in the database) to a new internet explorer window which should then log you on, then submit the true hyperlink which should show the stored page. The web page is an ASP page and has not been done by me, but as far as I can tell from editing the ASP page in Frontpage, the two important fields are 'txtloginName' and 'txtPassword'. I've tried the following inserted directly into an internet explorer address bar, with no luck, but then I program as best as I can in Access, I'm not a web programmer. Hopefully one of you guys out there can throw me a light?

http://website.net/index.asp?txtuserName=username&txtPassword=password

(obviously the website/username/password are not what they would normally be!!!)
