Hi all,
Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum.
I have a colleague who has a problem where Access 2003 crashes every time they try to export a table to Excel 2003. It doesn't matter what mdb is used Access crashes.

Any help?

Thanks,
RL

Perhaps if we knew more about HOW Access 2003 is crashing, we could be more helpful. Could you give more specifics? What is the error message, etc.?

It's the general "Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to close." error. There is a check box for "Repair my open database and restart Microsoft Office Access". Also buttons to Send Error Report or Don't Send. Very generic.

See if you can correlate an event in the system's Event Viewer to the time of the abort.

Check the system and application logs. Doubt it would be a security log, but try that, too.

Some generic advice: If you have the office installation kit, there is a feature to allow you to "refresh" your installation. Do so.

Thanks! I am not in close proximity to the PC but I will pass it on.

Follow the hyperlink to see what the report contains. The first few lines will contain some stuff including EXCEPTION: nnn and you should be able to Google-search for that exception code (as a Windows Exception nnn) or go to the MS Support site to do a local search for Exception nnn or Exception Code nnn
