The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 7 May 2025 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are very pleased to welcome back Karl Donaubauer from Austria. Karl has been an Access MVP for over 27 years and has long been a champion for the Access community. He organises two annual Access conferences (DevCon and AEK), co-ordinates the Access Forever blog site and had released many Access News videos.
In this session, Karl will explain best practice in handling Office and Windows updates including how best to manage issues arising from update bugs.
Topic Outline:
Every now and then, Microsoft's automatic updates deliver bugs that are just a little annoying or, in the case of critical applications, can bring the company to a standstill. Access users and developers tremble in the face of Office Patch Tuesdays and all the security and Windows updates.
But it doesn't have to be that way! Dr. Donaubauer is here to educate you on prevention, help with clarification and diagnosis, and prescribe treatment and healing.
Theory and practice on:
• how to find and setup the right update channel and cycle
• how to determine if you are the victim of an update bug
• which methods to use to survive the critical phase
• how to speed up bug fixes for Access by Microsoft
• most importantly: where and how efficient information takes place
I hope you will join us on 7th May for this session.
