Hello All,

I have a DB held on a server which 5 or so users all use at the same time via the network. All was well up until yesterday when now only one user can have it open at any time...

Whats happened? What do I need change/reset?

Many Thanks in advance.

A little extreme but have you restarted the server.
One of our servers keeps locking files, saying they are open when they are not.

Another thing may be the datebase is being opened exclusive, when you select file open, check the options, you somethimes have problems with a 97 database and someone with 2000 has it open.

Not restarted server as like you say I thought might be a little extreme, but I guess I could schedule a reboot this evening. I will look into different versions of access to see if that could be the issue also.

How do I check its exclusive??

I must admit I thought it would be down to security settings??

Many Thanks

If I remember correctly when you open Access and then open the database through file / open you get options listed in the bottom right corner of the file browser box.

Or

Tools / Options and the advanced tab, Default open mode.
