Adding field numbers for viewing purpose only

Hi there
I am totally new and trying to explore the Access during my free time, anyways, what I am looking for, is that to show the total/sum of the input fields (unbound form)
I tried sum function in control source for "Total working day", but I am getting #Error
=sum([workingdaysperiod1][workingdaysperiod2]...)

I used plus feature; like we do in Excel
=[workingdaysperiod1]+[workingdaysperiod2]......
the answer I am getting 22192120.....
For learning purpose, I am using fiscal calendar

Period; Month; Working days
1 - Jan - 22
2 - Feb - 19
3 - Mar - 21
4 - Apr - 20
.........

Total working day = ????? (I need sum of working days)

Hi Pat
It's just an example, there's no table behind the form, I just learning therefore, I usually play with form, I can understand that every month is separate record

My question is, can I sum all the number which I put in the field in a particular field on the form just for viewing purpose

Period = 1 and workingdays = 20
Period = 2 and workingdays = 15
................
and in the separate field it show me total working days = XXX
