After searching RetrievalField in combo box, how to display data in form fields?

Hello. I have a form with a combo box containing a RetrievalFeild to look up data (name and birthday) that may already exist in the table. That way, if the data is already there, I don't have to enter it a second time and create a duplicate entry.

When I am in the combobox and find existing data, I would like to hit TAB (or ENTER) and have all the existing data (the rest of the data, address, phone #, etc) appear in the upcoming form fields. In other words, I'd like to go straight to that record and have the data from that found record to appear in the rest of the form fields.

How do I accomplish that? Thanks.

1-Creat a bound form on the table

2-Add a combo box it will ask you for option select "Find record on my form based on the value I selected"

3- and follow the instructions thats it

Yes, I did that. I've created the combo box and it does, indeed, find data that's in the table and displays it in the combo box.

Underneath my combo box on the form are other, blank fields for that record's address, phone, etc. Once I find the record record in the combo box, I would like for that record's data to display in all the form fields.

I think controls in your form are not bound to the fields

My combo says, "unbound" and I think that should work. I believe my challenge has something to do with the combo box's "After Update" setting but I'm not sure. Any other ideas? Anyone?

I am not talking about combo but the other fields on your form
Those should be bound

Ah. Yes. Thanks very much. That helped.

One last thing:

As I tab down and complete the form everything works great. After the last field is complete, I would like to hit TAB and be taken to a new, blank form (for a new record). Currently, it takes me to the next alphabetical record. Is there a way to accomplish that? Thanks again.
