HELP: I was just reopend a database after loosing connection to the server and it gave me the message switchboard not found. I looked in forms and there are none - I had several. (reports also they are all gone - tables and queries there)

When I try and run one of the queries I get the error "undefined function IsNull in expression". I dont see any missing references. the query worked fine before.

If I try and create a new form I get an error "undefined function IsNumeric in expression". then "Invalid use of null". The form is created and "error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost".

I exit the form and it appears in the forms menu, I click it and it says "No Current Record", I click OK and it tells me I "tried to commit or rollback a transaction without first beginning a transaction." I say OK. I close the database and reenter and the form I just made is gone just like the rest.

I did have an older version of the database and so tried to copy a form over. I just copied and pasted. When i paste it askes me for the name: I enter one, BUT it does not appear in the form menu.

Any ideas.

thanks

Cutting the connection to a db can corrupt it. Make a copy of the db before you attempt anything else. Then create a new database and then import everything from the bad db into the new. If that does not work I would then suggest that you try the Jet Compact utility from Microsoft. It is free and it has saved me on a few db's that were corrupt. Search this forum for the key word "Jet" and my user name "ghudson" for the links to the jet compact program. Good luck!
