I was simply moved by this speech.

Wow!

I watched it @KitaYama. I agree, it is precious and thought-provoking.

A supportive loving family, who loved each other sacrificially, producing a child who grew up into a hard working man, who took personal responsibility for his own journey.

There is something so powerfully character-building about having a poorer childhood IF it is combined with certain exemplary adult role models and IF the child is forced to some extent to confront that material lack by responding with hard work of their own. I really can't get over it.
It's possible to grow up comfortable and spoiled and still become a person of responsible character, but damn...is it noticeably more rare!

Because of this I actually count myself lucky. I am sometimes reminded that my work ethic didn't really come from myself, nor how great or wonderful I am or ever have thought myself to be. No, no no..... It came from a combination of my parents' example, and from NOT HAVING anywhere near what I thought I wanted as a child. Learning to work HARD from the ground up. Learning to appreciate the process of moving up, even at the lower rungs. Marrying someone who felt the same way, even though she had a lot more material luxuries as a child, but she somehow, through God's grace and her own determination, became a hard worker of character. Interestingly, even she went through a 5-7 year stage as a very young adult when family denied her any help, thus, she worked in the lowest roles imaginable as an immigrant and found the character traits being developed through that as beautiful and a matter of great pride - continuing down that path of hard work and appreciation for life.

Great video and beautiful reminder of many good principles!! Thanks for sharing.
