I've no idea but this post is about those who protest about animals used for testing etc.

I think that you can care how animals are treated and still eat them, I find absolutely no contradiction in that at all.

I avoid chickens with blackened knees in Tesco - means they have been kept so badly that they have collapsed into their own shit which has burn't holes in their knees.

I must admit I probably avoid these chickens , at least as much for my benefit as the chickens.

I think I saw that before, didn't eat it because it looked real bad, yuk and all that.

Seriously though there does seam to be a lot of misplaced and exuberant, fanaticism in the world.

We do need people watch guarding animal well-being.. Given a choice we should choose animals raised in as humane a method as economically feasible.

We have two major organization here in the US (and maybe elsewhere as well) The Humane Society and PETA.

It seams to me that the Humane Society is more concern with systems or people actually mistreating animals, and PETA is more concerned that we practice society, based on their vision alone, where animals should rule our households and our lives.

I know Planet of the apes. Which one?

I think it was from Tim Burton's "re-engineering" version (which wasn't very good). It's actually quite frightening to see how much alike they look in Rich's post.
