I'm Phil, a one-man IT business based in Mansfield UK, self taught Access programmer for about 16 years. I've put quite a few Applications together in that time, but still climbing the learning curve! Sql back end maybe?

If you are asking should you upsize to MS SQL my reply would be no. It would become too much work for one person to handle/ administer.

I would prefer to send you down the road to MY Sql. It is bigger than you could ever need. It is Open Source so it is free and best of all it is available on more servers. If you coupled PHP with this you could build one big Database.
