I have set up databases that use append queries to update data into linked Excel tables/ranges using Access. This functionality was removed in one of the 2002 service packs, because from what I understand someone owned some code that enabled it to work and microsoft wouldn't pay them for it.
As time moves on to 2003 and 2007 I'm getting concerned that I will need to find another way. Has anyone else come across this problem or have any ideas as I have a whole reporting setup that uses this functionality?
I can provide an example if necessary but basically, access copies a blank excel report template to overwrite a linked Excel table, and then an append query updates the linked table with the new data.
Thanks for any help...
