archiving of my audit trail

i created an audit trail in my DB... i do need to submit reports reflecting the relevant changes made.... however, i notice that the report can be very lengthy if not renewed every month.... can i archive these trails.. on a mthly basis? if yes.. how ? if not... is there anything else i can do?

It depends on how you implemented the audit trail. I have a separate table that contains the relevant audit data for several active tables in my database. For each record in this audit table there is a t/f field called 'Acknowledged' that I set to true after running the report on it. Each time the report is run it only prints out the records where Acknowledged is false.
