Auto refresh to include red notification icon? (1 Viewer)

I have noticed that when I am on the main forums page, https://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/, there is a refresh interval indicated by a few pulsing vertical yellow lines near the upper right hand corner of the screen. When this refreshes, the content along the right hand pane (who is online and viewing what) appears to be refreshed. But what would be super nice is if this refresh process could include the all-important red notification icon, so I do not have to refresh page. I have noticed for the red notification icon to be refreshed, I have to actually refresh the page. I use Chrome.
