Autoexpanding a List Box (1 Viewer)

I have a number of List boxes in one of my applications showing about 3500 individuals in each list box. When I type 'E' for example it takes me to all those whose surname begin with E unfortunatley I still may have to scroll down through upto 200 entries before I get to the one I want. I know with a combo box you can 'Autoexpand' so for example if you type 'EN' it would take you to those whose surname begin with EN but it is an option that does not seem to be available with list boxes. Does any body have any suggestions or methods I can use to change this property of the list box. I just want to save my users a little time, it seems they can't handle the extra 3-4 seconds.
