Hello,

What I mean by the title is if I am typing something, then is it possible to have Word automatically insert what I type at another specified location.

For example:

Mr L. Skywalker
Jedi Company
123 Test Road
Test City
A12 3BC

Dear Mr Skywalker,

Thanks to your company, Jedi Company, for supplyng the documentation we requested. We'll be in touch in the future.

Yours sincerely

Yoda

If I was change the name 'Skywalker' to 'Vader' then I want the second 'Skywalker' (after Dear Mr.) to change to 'Vader' too. Likewise if I changed the company name in the address line to 'Death Star Inc' then I'd like the company name in the body of the letter to change with it.

I know you could do it via a mail merge and a database and stuff like that. But I was hoping there would be a way to set up a way to do it where it changes just as you type. I'm convinced it's possible, but I can't fathom how.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks.

If you're in class, you should be paying attention.

Find and replace would be possible, and I have tried it, but it is less efficient for my needs.

Thanks for your suggestion though.
