We process Incoming/Outgoing Mail. On each incoming mail we have to put F150101 (the Break Down is like this F stands for Foreign Service, 15 is the date, 01 is the month, and the next 01 is the serial no. of course the next one is going to be F150102 and so on.) Now each day it changes like Next day the first incoming record that we process is going to be F160101 and the next record for that day is going to be F160102. In a day the number goes up to F1601160). Now my question is this, is there any way that we just enter the first number(each Day) manually and the next number comes automaticaly in that format. I am using Access 2000. I tried using the AutoNumber but it does not work since this is a AlphaNumaric Number. Any help will be greatly appriciated.
