hi,
i know how to use the DMax to get an autonumber but what i want is somthing likethis
in my invoice number , it should look like this
0001/04
0001 is the serial number of invoice
and 04 is the year in which the invoice is made
further more while using the dmax function i ahve noticed that unless the user puts the first numer of invoiceno the dmax willnot work. so evertime when a database isstarted from initial the user has to type 1 and then it carries on. is thereany possibilty that this should automatically start from 1.
