I have a need to print a set of names and addresses on Avery L2160 (3 across, 7 down) labels using Access 2010. These are currently printed using mail merge via Word, which has Avery C2160 as a predefined template. Access does not.
I contacted Avery and was given the exact dimensions of the C2160 sheet and I then set up as a customised label. However I have run into problems. The first is that when I try to print the labels, I get warned that the layout is outside the printable area and I should reduce the number of columns or decrease the width of each label. I disbelieved and ignored this error and printed two sheets of labels. The horizontal layout is absolutely fine but I only get 6 sets of labels, not 7 per page. There is plenty of room to print the 7th set.
I would obviously rather the user (who changes from time to time) be able to print by a single click of a menu item rather than having to run a Word mail merge retrieving data from the Access Database.
A further query is why does Microsoft Office 2010 use different predefined template lists for Word and Access and could I find where Word stores the templates and copy one into Access?
Any help appreciated.
