!! UPDATED INFO. Should be in the last post of this thread !!

Hello,

This idea just sprung up in the Microsoft Access User Groups - South West England Group.

How about we do a AWF Christmas meal? The tentative idea is meet up in Bath - Hare & Hound pub on 14th December 2013 1pm for some lunch !

More the merrier ! So if you all can take a few hours away from your busy lives, sit down have a laugh, talk about something fun, some food ! Would be good ! :)

It will be busy so we do need to book a table (as per CJ's suggestion). So if anyone would like to join the fun please add your name to this thread, by the end of this week we will come to a decision.

As of now we have,

Tony (Uncle Gizmo) - Newbury
Chris (CJ_London) - Oxford
Paul (pr2-eugin) - Bournemouth

Hi Guys,

I would absolutely love to meet some of the names that I see here so often. Unfortunately, I have joined the thread a little late and I am only able to do Sundays and Mondays. But, if you could make make it 15th December 2013 I'd be delighted.

Bob, we are still in the initial planning I should say still undecided.. If everyone is alright with the move, I am okay with that too.. As long as I am back in Bournemouth by 8 PM on 15th, for my Choir performance I would say okay. ;)

I'd love to do that Paul, but the air fares are prohibitive for me.:p

Unfortunately CJ cannot make it to the 15th as he has family commitments. I have not heard anything from Uncle Gizmo, so not sure. Looks like it will be 14th..

Absolutely! If you find yourself out west, let me know.

Okay, the week is almost over ! Looks like no one else would be joining. Just one more day, before a final decision is made (I guess !). I am so sorry Bob, it would have been an absolute please to have met you, but I think it would be best if we stick with the original plan.

So since Newbury is closer to Chris and of course Tony, we will change the venue to Newbury.

14th December (Saturday) - 1 PM at a local pub (Tony any thoughts?) in Newbury !

Shame, but I hope you all have a great time. Maybe I'll be able to join in next year.;)

Hi Rabbie, that would be amazing. the plan is 14 December 2013, the Saturday by 1pm in newbury.

I am just hoping, since we will be only 4 people it really does not need any booking. Since we will be meeting up in Tony's town, ;) he might be able to suggest a specific location.

Questions..

I'm assuming a town centre location.

Advantages:
travel by Train, Bus, so you can have a drink!

Anyone have dietary requirements?

I'm assuming a Christmas themed dinner, somewhere around £10 or £20 per head.
Any other idea's, suggestions, requirements?

Town Center - Sounds perfect ! The price sounds reasonable too. I think I can eat anything :D

Well excited !

I have booked my tickets to Newbury. Will reach there roughly by 12:00, I will go around town center trying to figure out the place. Then will pop down to the pub, whichever we have planned to meet up at.

Does not look like there are many takers for this event. Well I would be glad to meet you two ! Looking forward to that !

All set to go - will meet Paul at bus station circa 12:10.

Regret I'll have to drive, no buses and train is via Reading so takes way too long.

@Tony - have been trying to ping you via private message but think your inbox is full!

@Bob - no reason why we have to wait 12 months to meet again!

Re diet, anything except italian or chinese (I have an allergy to some of their ingredients:eek:) - Xmas theme sounds fine
