This is a real silly question but Access' action irks me and if there is a solution, I want it.
I have a dropdown combo box where the file number is entered to pull up the record. Because the sytem is thinking ahead of you it is prefilling the box with the record it thinks you might want (i.e you enter 100 and in the table is record 100089, Access will as you type, prefill in the rest of the record). As you are typing if you make a mistake and hit backspace Access only deletes the prefilled portion of the record number. (i.e. you have entered 100 in error when you meant record 101 but the system has prefilled the 089 portion and is highlighted if you backspace only 089 is deleted). Now you aren't watching and you enter the 1 that you missed of the correct record and you get record 1001. What an aggrevation!
I thought that there was and autofill property but I guess I was just dreaming.
Any ideas so that the field does not autofill?
