Hello:

My issue is odd but I think simple to fix. Here’s the situation:

I have a report with a horizontal (rather than up and down the bars go left and right) bar chart graph at the center The range of the X-axis is from -3 to +3.

The problem is that if a value falls outside this range, for example, +4 then the chart spills over onto the text part of the report. That is, it goes outside of the axis.

An easy fix would be to simply increase the range of the Axis but for other reasons +3 to -3 is preferred (I am graphing Z-scores from non-normal distribution for the stat lovers out there).

Any help is appreciated. In general, I find Access Graphs difficult to work with compared to other Office applications.

You could shrink the size of your graph, so that if it goes up to +4 it will get out of the graph, but not in your text part.
What do you want it to show if it gets to higher than +3? +3 or the real score? If you need it to be left at +3, you could use an IIF statement to make anything higher than +3 to become +3.
Do you really need the text part to be beside the graph? Couldn't it just be put underneath it?
When you say that the sore can be higher than the +3 max, what range are you talking about? Is it just some +4 and +5, or can it go as high as +10? Can it go below -3 as well?

Thanks Newman, I like the IIF statement approach. If the bars are greater than +3 or less than -3 (both can be the case and yes they may be much greater i.e. +10 could occur) then I want them truncated at that point.
