Basic set caption problem from a noob

Hi All,

Sorry for my ignorace, but I have a simple problem that I just cant nut out.

I have a combo box "cmboCouncils" which displays a list of Council abbreviations from a table called Councils.

When I select a council in the combo box I would like it to set the value of a label called labCName to the value of the field called CouncilName from the same selected record.
I am having all sorts of trouble.
Any help would be great

Why not have the ComboBox display the CouncilName?

In the cmboCouncils AfterUpdate or Click event, add code

Me.labCName.caption = me.cmboCouncils.column(2)

this assumes that the council name is the 3rd column in the combo box.
