Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to lock or bind cells together in a row to prevent mixing them if an improper sort is done?
I have a couple of spreadsheets built that have quite a bit of data and formulas on them that other people in my organization also use. I keep backups but I am really getting tired of having to repair the spreadsheets when other people sort without selecting all the columns and subsequently scramble the data. (I hate to admit I have done it myself a couple of times also :o)
Anyone have any ideas? I am using excel 2002.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

This is what I do with a complex workbook. The master is on sheet2 and is protected (my copy) which can be unprotect using my macro hidden in row 1 to the right of the rightmost column. My macro asks me for my password to unprotect.
The workbook opens with a macro button in Row1 Column A, called Refresh My worksheet. When it is pressed, it simply copies all Values, Formulas, and Formatting including notations, to Sheet1 for that user to manipulate.
Now if you wish the user to enter information that you need for your sheet, that is a horse of a different colour.
Hope this helps.
Bob
