Binding on sub

I need to be pointed in the right direction.
I have a sub form with two fields;

1. Chemical (combo) gets data from a Chemical Qry
2. WHP (withholding period) data entered manually

I want the WHP to be filled in & recorded in the underlying tbl when I select a Chemical.
