Blank rows in exported txt file

I have a form that when you fill in populates the table and then the report is run on the query. This report has very long rows (41.494cm) and is in the correct format and alignment ready for a print job, except for a couple of things!!

The first line of the report is blank, then the 3,6,9,11 etc and depending on the number of rows there will be an extra row at the bottom of the exported txt file.

Anyone know why this would be happening or how I can go about resolving it?

(The report does have numerous fields starting at exact points along a row to make sure of correct allignment - not sure if this makes a difference or not)

It would be helpful if you could post oa copy of your DB so we can see what is happening. You haven't really given us enough information to work on yet. Is it possible that some rows are wrapping round so they fit on the page?

Thanks for your time, here is a copy of the DB - the problem is when I right click on Report and export as a txt file.

I have had a look at the report and in preview mode it seemed correct(no blank lines) despite going over onto a second page. This could be due the paper size my PC/Printer are setup to use. Do the rows really need to be so long as I suspect this may be behind your problem

Yes – this is the required format for print off swipe cards (excluding the blank rows that appear). The fields need to start at x.xx cm and all the data for one record needs to be in one row. Everything looks alright (in terms of no blank rows in preview – even if some data is overwriting over) in the preview, it is just when it is exported to text (txt) that I start getting blank rows appearing.

The rows do not appear to be that random but I cannot figure it out……….

Great that has solved all the blank rows except for the very first line.

Anyone know how to remove the blank line for the very first row?


For those that have the same issue it is resolved by setting the high of your text fields and the Details as Height: .1667" or 0.317cm
